SCHOOL POLICY
At Kate’s School of Dance, we offer enjoyable and structured lessons in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. All students are encouraged to the best of their ability. Our goal is to engage young children’s imagination and instil a love of dance. Dance is an art form and children are encouraged to pursue which ever form of dance they enjoy.
We follow the voluntary code of conduct set by the Council for Dance Education and Training (please refer to www.cdet.org.uk for more information).
We promote equal opportunities and take a positive approach to learning, building confidence in a supportive environment.
We follow assessment criteria set by the Royal Academy of Dance, Lafour Prima Dance and Jill Bridger’s Melody Bear Syllabus®.

CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
Kate’s School of Dance is fully committed to safe guarding the well being of its students. Every individual should at all times show respect and understanding for their rights, safety and welfare and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the school.
We will obtain parental permission before publishing any photos of students (for advertising purposes)
DATA PROTECTION POLICY
All information obtained by Kate’s School of Dance is used solely by Kate’s School of Dance for communication and health and safety purposes and will not be passed on to any third party. Kate’s School of Dance complies with the Data protection act 1988.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Kate’s School of Dance carry out risk assessments of each site ensuring the flooring is adequate, the temperature of the room is constant, fire exits are clearly marked and aware of evacuation procedures and a first aid kit is kept on site.
An accident book is kept on site at all times and all accidents/incidents are recorded and parents informed immediately. Student emergency contact details are kept on site should a parent need to be contacted.
